Planning a replenishment order

If the stove is used most evenings, a bulk bag or crate provides a larger supply in one delivery. For occasional fires, smaller packs may be easier to store and handle. Compare the stated volume of each option before choosing.

Prepare the store before the load arrives. Keep wood sheltered from rain and clear of damp ground, with ventilation around it. Allow room for moving the new logs from the unloading point without blocking a path or doorway.

Choosing a species or mixed load

Ash gives a steady burn. Birch catches readily, while oak burns more slowly once the fire is established.

For mixed hardwoods, read the species listed on the product rather than assuming every mix is identical. Check the length and cut against your stove manual, and read our Ready to Burn information for more about dry firewood.

Delivery to your Stockton-on-Tees address

Crates and bulk bags arrive on a pallet by tail lift lorry. The driver will not drive onto your property. A pallet can be wheeled over a suitable flat, hard surface, but not across gravel or grass. Where access is unsuitable, the pallet will be left kerbside.

Read the delivery requirements for vehicle dimensions, overhead clearance and unloading space. If access needs discussing, call 01653 668177 before placing an order.

We also have a Middlesbrough delivery page for orders to an address there.

Questions about ordering logs in Stockton-on-Tees

Will the driver put individual logs into my store?

The pallet service moves the bag or crate as a complete load; it does not include carrying or stacking individual logs. Arrange any transfer from the unloading position into your store yourself.

Do kiln dried logs still need kindling?

Usually, yes. Use dry kindling and a suitable firelighter to establish a fire, following your appliance manufacturer’s lighting instructions.

Should I remove the bark from the logs?

No. Bark attached to dry, untreated firewood can be burned with the log in a suitable wood-burning appliance. Follow the appliance instructions for loading and airflow.

Are all the pieces exactly the same size?

Split hardwood varies in shape and thickness. Check the length and cut stated on the product page; a nominal log length does not make every piece identical.

Can I get an arrival estimate during an all-day slot?

A more precise estimate is not available for the 08:30–17:30 all-day pallet delivery. If you need a narrower window, select an alternative slot at checkout where one is offered.
