For regular burning when you have space to receive and store a loose-filled load. Check the declared bag volume.
The useful way to compare firewood is to check what is actually in the order: the species, log length, cut and declared volume. Two packs that look similar in a photograph may suit quite different stoves and storage spaces.
We deliver kiln dried logs to Wakefield in bulk bags, crates and smaller packs. Ash, birch, oak and mixed hardwoods are available, with a separate range prepared for pizza ovens.
Choose the pack that suits your fire and the space you have to store it. Check the product details, then view delivery options for your address at checkout.

For a larger firewood order. Compare the volume description and crate dimensions before choosing a quantity.
For a smaller store, occasional fire or top-up. Read the pack quantity rather than judging by the bag photograph.
Hardwood prepared for wood-fired cooking. Check the log cut and length against your oven’s requirements.
Check whether a product’s volume is described as stacked or loose. A neatly stacked crate contains different air spaces from a loose-filled bag, so compare like for like wherever possible.
Think about how often you use the stove. A larger load can suit regular burning, while smaller bags are easier to accommodate if you only light an occasional fire. Allow room to unload as well as room for the finished stack.
Use the maximum log length in your appliance manual as your starting point. Check the cut too: smaller split pieces catch more readily, while larger pieces need an established fire. Leave enough room to load safely.
Ash is a steady everyday choice, birch catches readily and oak burns more slowly once the fire is hot. Check the species listed on mixed-hardwood products rather than assuming every mix is identical.
Bulk bags and crates are delivered on a pallet by tail lift lorry. The driver will not drive onto your property. Moving the pallet beyond the kerb needs a flat, hard surface; grass and gravel are not suitable for a pallet truck.
Read the delivery requirements before ordering if there are tight turns, limited unloading space or overhead obstructions. If access is unsuitable, the pallet will be left kerbside.
Keep the wood dry once it arrives. Our Ready to Burn information explains more about dry firewood. Call 01653 668177 if you need help with a product or delivery question.
Wood density and moisture content affect weight. A heavier load does not automatically contain more dry firewood, so compare the declared volume and product specification too.
No. Split hardwood varies naturally in shape and thickness. Check the product’s stated cut and length; a nominal length does not mean every piece has identical dimensions.
For pallet orders, someone should be available unless delivery instructions have been left when ordering. Arrange a safe, accessible place for the load. Aborted deliveries are chargeable.
No. Orders are delivery only and collections are not available. Use the delivery options shown for your products at checkout.
No. Bark attached to dry, untreated firewood can be burned with the log in a suitable wood-burning appliance. Follow the appliance instructions for loading and airflow.
